EchoReboot's Digital Story

Welcome to my little corner of the internet!

This is the blog of a true 2000s internet nerd—and yes, I guess you could say a bit of a Star Wars geek and video game enthusiast, too… Welcome to Nerdonia, where nostalgia and geek culture collide. Lol

My journey started around 2001 or 2002, back in the dial-up days when every webpage felt like it took forever to load. I’d visit friends’ houses, pop in old floppy disks, and fire up classics like Doom or Commander Keen. Then my stepdad upgraded to a new PC, and suddenly, I had a whole new digital world to explore.

I spent hours listening to the iconic screech of dial-up while diving into early internet gems like FantasyForums and GeoCities. Then came Newgrounds, where I got lost in Flash animations and weird, quirky games.

I thought I was pretty cool creating playlist after playlist of low-quality MP3s ripped from sites like LimeWire—and sneaking them into school. Needless to say, I lost about three USB MP3 players in the process.

The early internet was a strange, wild place, but it was my digital playground. It might not have been the most polished, but it was definitely the most fun.

If you're wondering about the name, it came from my first “Username” which was “Reboot”… and it had nothing to do with my dyslexia and love pressing the PC reboot button. Echo came much later when I started playing FPS games.
